Say hello to a new hand lettering series! We’re joining #letteringsummerunderthestars (an exercise created by @rosiechristinestudio , inspired by the classic movie line-up on @turnerclassicmovies !!) and providing prints of our artwork for sale on Etsy by the end of the month. Starting with the iconic Marilyn, of course.

Keep a look out for each movie star as we complete the challenge on Instagram! Feel free to join in at any point and use the hashtag so everyone can see your work.

Pigeon Watercolor and Brush Pen Illustration Speed Paint

I think we all could use more reasons to unwind. Watercolor and all things pigment-based are my therapy. Sharing what I do with the world is also my therapy. Watching what others do can be so calming as well. You get caught up in their vibe that you get lost to the troubles around you.

Well, here’s to you getting caught up in my vibes.

I made this little pigeon babe for my Mother in Law on her birthday. She loves pigeons. I know a lot of people don’t love pigeons, but she does, and I think that’s special. Because they really are beautiful, smart little creatures.

This pigeon is all the way across an ocean right now, in a good home. I had so much fun creating him and I hope you have fun watching me create him.

As usual, supplies will be listed on screen as I use them. I will also be doing something new where I list them all in the tags here on the blog as well. Because that’s probably a thing that would be good to do!

Thanks all, looking forward to lots more fun things on the horizon.

CutCardStock Design Team Project 10 – Traveler’s Notebook + Art Journal

We are so pleased to be working with the CutCardStock team! Each month, using their products in order to make two themed projects, and hosting step-by-step DIY instructions on their blog.

On our blog, we will have full YouTube videos showing the process as well. So be sure to check both places to get the full story!

Our tenth project is a handmade traveler’s notebook, crafted from a vinyl placemat that I found at the dollar store. Using lots of silver card stock (glitter on the front, metallic on the inside for the inserts), mod podge, and various alcohol ink techniques.

On our blog, we will have full YouTube videos showing the process as well. So be sure to check both places to get the full story!

Our ninth project is inspired by a season of “congratulations” – using metallic card stock to die cut the sentiment and embellishments, we utilized an ink smooshing technique for the rest, and popped the sentiment up on foam for dimension.

Fast & Loose Wet On Wet Decorative Rose Watercolor Speedpaint

The process part of this video has been sped up 450%.

I am using a DIY watercolor palette I made from a plastic box and waterproofed foam core, Winsor & Newton cotman tube paints, various brushes as listed on screen, and Canson XL watercolor paper taped to a dollar store cutting board.

Just looking to have fun and splash around in some color. Hoping you enjoy the process!

Any questions, requests for commissions or custom orders? Feel free to hit up the Etsy shop, or fill out a request on our project estimate form.

Our eighth project involves using a brush embossing pen to hand letter a sentiment for a best friend card. We use distress ink in a darker hue than the pop tones card stock to create a soft floating effect, then add a few enhancements and hand-cut glossy heart accents.

Temporary Tattoo Half Sheets and Custom Options Now Available

I am truly kicking myself for not taking good photos of these tattoos when I tried them on a real life bachelorette party. These mock-ups will have to do for now, and I’ve made them as accurate as possible with regards to scale. The “bride status” is the largest and spans my wrist at just over 2.5 inches. The custom option is great if you want something super special for everyone at the party!
